Gender identity & Sexual orientation issues
What are gender identity & sexual orientation issues?
At Face to Face Therapia we believe in tolerance and respect, regardless of a person's gender identity or sexual leanings. Sadly, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and asexual individuals still face ignorance, and sometimes violence, within society. This presents them with a unique set of difficulties.
If you're part of the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) community, and struggling with issues related to your gender and sexual orientation, please get in touch. We can talk through the problem and get you the right help.
What sort of problems can we help with?
Some of the most common issues facing our LGBT clients include:
- the belief that sexual orientation can, and sometimes should, be changed
- feelings of confusion about their gender identity or sexual orientation
- struggles 'coming out'
- conflict with family and society
- relationship problems
- bullying
- aggression and violence
- feelings of loneliness, social isolation
- post-traumatic stress following incidents of emotional or physical abuse
- anxiety
- depression
What therapies do we offer?
If you're looking for empathy, expertise and a safe space to talk, we'd recommend a course of one to one therapy . Therapy can help you unravel, and tackle, the issues behind your distress. It can also stop you feeling isolated and alone. Many clients also find our group therapy sessions very helpful.
We're all different. Some people are most suited to one approach, others benefit from a combination of therapies. If you came to our centre we'd discuss your difficulties with you and, together, decide on the treatment that’s best for you.
